Tai Chi

Fatima Even of Ohio Valley Manor Home Health has been leading the Tai Chi class at the Center every Tuesday at 10:00am and does a wonderful job.  Tai Chi is recommended by the Arthritis Foundation  and helps build balance which aids in fall prevention.  It is a gentle practice that is easy on your joints and promotes relaxation and pain management.  Fatima works with the class as a whole and each individual if needed to ensure maximum results.

Yoga Stretch

Sharon Fulkerson, of Hospice and Hope, has been offering a Yoga Stretch class at the center.  The class is every Monday at 1:30pm.  Sharon has had great success with the class.  “The class is a very positive and relaxing atmosphere and no to mention fun.”  Sharon recently introduced stretch bands to the class routine and continues to add simple but yet very beneficial moves to promote health and well-being.  “Everyone in the class is saying we hope to keep this up.  They truly enjoy it.”

The health benefits of yoga enable you to develop your flexibility, strength, and balance.  Yoga may increase relaxation and reduce stress.  A chair alternative routine is provided.  Wear clothes that allow you to move freely.
